No class because of MLKjr day.
Tuesday/Wednesday
Opened class with a writing journal about congruent triangle proofs. Then did a lesson worksheet together about the three triangle similarity shorcuts: AA~, SAS~, and SSS~. Finished wksht here. Then had time in class to start and practice homework.
Homework: p. 474: #1-24
Textbook pages: 474 and 475
Thursday/Friday
Returned homework from last week, discussed some of the common errors made. Turned in textbook pages assigned last class. Looked at real-world uses of similar triangles and proportional relationships, including indirect measurements using mirrors and shadows. Went outside and measured the height of the school flagpole using a mirror and geometry.
Homework: on Monday we will be doing a seminar in-class on this text. Please read it ahead of class.
