Many were out of class because of the 9th and 10th retreats, so we spent today catching up on homework and takign re-assessments. This Friday is the deadline for all reassessments for Q1 grades.
Homework: hw assigned last Thursday/Friday has been pushed back to this Tuesday/Weds.
1A/3A/4A: p. 109: # 2,3 p. 119 #20,21.
1B/3B: p. 106: #8-10 p. 109: # 2,3 p. 119 #20,21

After an estimation warm up, we reviewed last week's homework on translations and reflections. Worked through an exploration activity on reflections and translations some more, looking at how to code certain movements in a graphic interface. This includes using given arrow notation to draw a new figure, reflecting a figure across a non-axis line, writing arrow notation from points, and predicting what happens to a figure after transformations.
Homework: worksheet #1-12 (attached here) (CO-A4a, CO-A5a, CO-B6a)

reflection (similar to front side of workhseet): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut-Z_KhMhDI
translation (similar to back of worksheet) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC4UZOplJBw
(his answer in our notation would be (x,y)-->(x+6, y-1)
reflection (like back of worksheet) - second half of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0jv5bu5Y6U
Another estimation warm up. Took assessment on reflections, translations, and some review exercises. Learned about rotations using a construction method. Similar methods here:
copying an angle
bisecting an angle
rotation a figure with compass and straight edge
Homework: have a great fall break!
