Warm up was to find the slope and intercepts of a linear equation given in standard form. Talked about the previous night's reading, then looked at what geometry is based on prior knowledge and understanding of the word origins. Learned about Euclid and the history of geometry and his 5 axioms, then about the basic building blocks of geometry: point, line, and plane. As undefined terms, they cannot be defined but can be understood, modeled, and studied which we did in a graphic organized. Closed class by practicing naming figures involving points, lines, and planes, including angles and rays.

Warm up involved practicing naming figures. Went over homework and made sure it was put away in an organized way, to help with doing a retake if necessary. First assessment announced: it will be 8/23 (A) or 8/24 (B). Played the "Sketch Artist" game to practice naming figures and sketching them. Learned about line segments, angles, and rays through the image of a dancer leaping. Practiced naming rays and angles with Kahoot.
